If you are an artist and submitted artwork but were not selected as a participant in this show we want to encourage all artists to know that we value and appreciate your skill, talent, and time. Selection by our jury is entirely up to them and they work to meet the guidelines for the show. Other reasons an artwork may not be included could be an incomplete submission form, images that did not follow our submission guidelines or there were issues or concerns about copyright or other guideline rules that were not followed.
We thank all artists who submitted and congratulate those who were selected or won recognition. Please check out our current calls for entry and check back as new calls are posted periodically. See the button below to sign up.
Art is posted in random order except for the first, second and third place recognition winners.
First Prize--"Forwarded Message" --Melissa Bolton
Acrylic Paint on board
My artwork is a reflection of my love for vibrant colors and expressive brush strokes. Through the use of sgraphito techniques and liberal marks, I strive to create a powerful abstract energy that encapsulates the feelings and emotions within me. I must be bold with my brush.
Second Prize--"Random Number" -- Kevin DuPont
Collaged Paper, Ink, and Paint
The collaged papers, diverse textures and bright colors, invite the viewer to take a closer look. I seek to convey the sense of chaos and randomness that often characterizes our daily lives. The vibrant shades of red, orange, yellow, and black add energy and movement to the piece, suggesting life is constantly in motion.
Third Prize--"Woven" -- Piper Black
Watercolor Paint, Ink, and Encaustics
As an indigenous artist, my work is inspired by rich cultural traditions. The use of watercolor, ink and encaustics are layered to evoke a sense of warmth and comfort with depth and complexity. Nostalgia and tradition are bound into my art.
Cell City -- Margaret Freath
Photography, Digital Manipulation
Made to Explode -- Komi Suante
Storm Arrival -- Karen Thomas
